Meet Amiyah

Amiyah and her siblings have attended Heart & Hand programs at Smith Elementary for the last two years. Amiyah is a natural leader with an adventurous spirit. She loves to dance, spend time with her Heart & Hand friends and try new things. While at Heart & Hand, Amiyah has gone horseback riding, participated in tennis workshops, and starred in several talent shows.

When Amiyah was having anxiety about going to school, the only thing that could persuade her to go was looking forward to Heart & Hand in the afternoons. In addition to creating a safe space for Amiyah, Heart & Hand staff also created an emotional support plan that empowered Amiyah with the skills to succeed in the classroom and beyond.
